Unveiling the Nykur: A Haunting Encounter at Sørvágsvatn, Faroe Islands

The Nykur is a legendary creature in Faroese folklore that is said to reside in bodies of water such as lakes, rivers, and oceans. The creature is known to appear in the form of a beautiful white horse, tempting unsuspecting people to ride it. Once the person is on its back, the Nykur will gallop into the water, dragging the person down to their death.

The sculpture of the Nykur of Sørvágsvatn in the Faroe Islands captures the eerie and haunting presence of this legendary creature.
